On August 6, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the International Labor Organization (ILO) organized a policy dialogue "International labor standards on child labor (Labor). ) towards transparency of the supply chain in the context of international integration. "
According to the 2012 national survey of child labor, the proportion of children in Vietnam engaged in economic activities among children aged 5-17 was 15.5% and 62% of them were identified as child labor. . In particular, up to 75% of the labor force is at risk of doing heavy, hazardous and dangerous jobs. The labor force mainly operates in the informal sector and is on a strong downward trend. However, in the context of the implementation of international conventions, the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement, etc. As a result of reducing and eliminating child labor and forced labor, Vietnam still faces many challenges. The reason is that the control and handling of violations related to labor union of local authorities and authorities are inadequate; legal knowledge and awareness of families, children, employers, labor brokers is limited.

In order to reduce the number of labor accidents, the participants stated that in addition to internalizing all international commitments and perfecting the legal system on labor force, it is necessary to continue implementing programs to prevent and reduce labor; strengthening inspection, examination and supervision of labor force; develop labor assistance packages and for families with labor force.
